Wytec International reports repeated defacement of its company website
Compiled 2026-09-27 from public records. By the cisonews.net Desk.
Wytec International, a small wireless network company, disclosed on August 29, 2025 that its website had been defaced on August 25, restored from backups, and then defaced again. It took the site down while it reviewed the platform. The filing is among the smallest-scale incidents reported under Item 1.05 in this log.
Original filing
Wytec said it had received no contact from whoever was responsible and knew of no motive. It cancelled a seminar scheduled for September 2, 2025 and expected significant but hard-to-quantify losses. It reported the matter to the FBI.
February 2026 amendment
The 8-K/A, filed more than five months later, said systems and data were restored and that the investigation had ended without an answer. Wytec said the main costs were rebuilding the website on a new server and hosting platform and tightening security.
Not disclosed
Neither filing gives a dollar figure for losses or describes how the site was compromised.
