DISH Network, the pay-TV and wireless company, disclosed on February 28, 2023 that a network outage it had mentioned on its February 23 earnings call was caused by a cybersecurity incident. It also said data had been extracted from its IT systems and might include personal information.

What DISH disclosed

Four days later the company learned data had been taken.

DISH said its TV, Sling and wireless networks kept running, but internal communications, customer call centres and websites were affected.

What was unknown

The filing does not give a detection date, the type of data extracted or the number of people affected. DISH said only that the extracted data might turn out to include personal information, and this log holds no follow-up 8-K.
