Frontier Communications reports a cybercrime group reached personal information

Compiled 2026-09-27 from public records. By the cisonews.net Desk.

Frontier Communications Parent, the fiber and broadband provider, disclosed on April 18, 2024 that it had detected a third party in portions of its information technology environment four days earlier. It said shutting down systems to contain the intrusion caused an operational disruption that could be considered material.

What Frontier disclosed

The company's own wording on the disruption was hedged but direct.

Frontier said the intruder was likely a cybercrime group and had reached personally identifiable information, among other data. By filing time it believed the incident contained and its core environment restored, and it did not expect a material effect on finances.

Gaps

The filing gives no count of affected customers or employees, and it does not name the group. No amendment is in the log, so the number of people affected is not established on this page.
