United Natural Foods, a grocery wholesaler that supplies retailers across North America, reported on June 9, 2025 that it had become aware of unauthorized activity on some IT systems on June 5. Taking systems offline interrupted its ability to fulfil and distribute customer orders. On June 26 it filed under Item 1.05.
Initial Item 8.01 report
UNFI said it had put workarounds in place and was restoring systems.
Item 1.05 filing
By June 26 the company said the activity was contained and core electronic ordering and invoicing systems were back. It said it did not plan to notify individual consumers because personal or health information was not involved. The financial conclusion was specific to one quarter. UNFI expected its insurance to be adequate, with claims running into fiscal 2026.
Missing from the filings
UNFI did not describe the type of attack or put a dollar figure on the quarterly impact in these filings.
